Bella is an emerging artist. She completed the Advanced Diploma of Visual Art and Craft at North Metropolitan TAFE (formerly Central TAFE) in 2016, and is now studying Fine Art at Curtin University with the object of becoming a full time arts practitioner.
Sociology, philosophy and the preservation of history inform Bella’s artworks. She is also interested in the sub-conscious and how perceptions are processed through filters of experience and self identity.
Ideas for artworks employ photography as an exploratory tool to further develop concepts. Digital imagery is also incorporated into artworks.
Materials are an important component of an artwork and are selected to support the concept to be conveyed. Found or reclaimed objects are preferred. A natural inclination to three dimensional formats results in predominantly sculptural works, however, drawing is also a favoured medium.
It’s important to take risks, even if you suspect you will fail. Failure and reactions to failure can forge a way forward.
